In the last 2 or 3 weeks we have all been bombarded with “Holiday Wishes”, “Happy New Year Wishes” or ‘just’ “Best Wishes”.

People who love us or just know us can ‘wish’… but what about US?

Wishing is a poor strategy to make a dream come true. The secret is all in the DOING, in taking ACTION.

To take action we first need to assess where we are, reflect on where we want to be and come up with a step by step plan to get there.

“When you wish upon a star” reminds us of the great Walt Disney.

Those words come out of a song, and taken out of context might take us to a different interpretation of what he meant – which in his own words was “All dreams can come true – if we have the courage to pursue them”.

Dreams can come true, but they are a materialized through awareness, commitment, persistence, focus and work.
There are no overnight successes – behind each success there are years of preparation, study, practice and course correction.

Every minute is a choice – how we react to everything that happens in our lives (even when we choose NOT to react), how we plan to be in control – ‘action mode’ instead of ‘reaction mode’.

So for 2013, here are MY CHOICES:

I choose to progress – to be each day a better person than the day before; to focus on leaving everything I touch better than when I found it. I choose to learn from the masters, books, experiences, the homeless in the street and the carefree child that smiles at me and giggles when I smile back (well, I usually pull a funny face too).

I choose to be creative – to refuse any labels, to be genuine, to be myself and to nurture the child in me, letting no one tell me what I ‘should’ do whilst always accepting and reflecting on heart given feedback.

I choose to be happy – to see the positive side of each situation and make the most of it; to smell the roses, be fascinated by fellow humans (instead of judging them), and marvel at each sunset as if I was seeing it for the first time.

What about YOU?

Please post your thoughts below =)
