I was visiting the ‘Sagrada Familia’ in Barcelona designed by Gaudi and admiring its beauty and its unique features.
That got me thinking – what am I doing in my life to make it memorable?
I’ve asked this question many times to my Clients and almost always they reply – I don’t have any special talent! Of course they do, we all do!
We are born talented, curious, adventurous, free! How else could we have learned to talk, to eat, to walk?
When we were attempting to walk, were we afraid to do it? No. Were we self-conscious and worried about what others would think if we zigzagged and fell? No.
Later at school weren’t we proud of our drawings even if they looked just like blobs? Maybe the problem was when we started listening to negative comments from the teacher or the other children…
But let’s come back to the present time. Being memorable is to be the best at what you do!
Have you been to a Hotel or public building where the floor was so clean that it shone? Have you been to a Restaurant where the food was so well presented and so tasty you never forgot it? That is being memorable!
Have you been to a park where you have seen a mother looking after her child, a boyfriend look at his girlfriend in a very special way, or a granddaughter holding her grandmother’s hand to help her walk while enjoying nature and the warmth of the sun? That is being memorable!
What about at work? No matter what your job is, if you compete against yourself to be better each day then the day before, to take every single opportunity to grow and learn more, to treat your fellow workers with the respect they deserve regardless of their rank, that is being memorable!
Be the best version of yourself in everything you do and you will live a legacy in everyone whose life you have touched!
